With high pressure in charge, the weekend promises to be largely fair with light to moderate southeast winds and slight seas. An inverted trough moves towards us during the start of the new week, bringing isolated showers into the area from the southeast. Tropical storm Cindy, located to our distant southeast, continues to be closely monitored.

With high pressure building from the north over the next few days, it promises to be largely fair despite a few showers this evening and tonight. The very humid conditions gradually subside towards the weekend as light to moderate southerly winds veer into the east. Smooth to slight seas build slight to moderate later this week.

A few morning showers give way to a brighter day.

We remain in an unstable pattern over the next few days with occasional wet weather, as a wide and disorganized area of convergence remains in our area. Throughout the remainder of this holiday weekend, early today has the best chance for brighter skies as clouds thin at times. Moderate seas abate over the next few days.

Showers and thunderstorms are gradually becoming better organized in association with a tropical wave located several hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. Environmental conditions appear conducive for additional development, and a tropical depression is now likely to form over the next couple of days. This system is expected to move westward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern and
central tropical Atlantic through the middle part of this week.

A mostly cloudy morning with rain/showers around.

An area of unsettled weather is producing scattered to widespread rain/showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds at times as it moves across the area. Wet weather may linger through the weekend as the region remains rather unstable but Sunday has the best chance for fair weather to dominate. Moderate to strong winds can become gusty in showers while seas remain in a moderate to near rough state over the coming days.

A tropical wave located several hundred miles south-southwest of the 
Cabo Verde Islands continues to produce a broad area of disorganized 
showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions appear conducive 
for additional development, and a tropical depression is likely to 
form by the early to middle portion of next week while the system 
moves westward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern and central 
tropical Atlantic.

High pressure briefly nudges in from the southeast creating mainly settled conditions until the ridge retreats once again by Friday. Unsettled weather then returns, spawning clusters of gusty showers that spread across our region right through the weekend, along with strong southwest winds and moderate seas.

A warm and humid flow continues…

After a brief reprieve in shower activity, an area of rainfall has formed to our southwest and is expected to migrate through our area. However, ridging builds in from the southeast later today into Thursday, giving the greatest chance of drier and brighter conditions. The ridge retreats on Friday allowing inclement weather to move back over us into the start of the weekend.
